Even though spring started with lots of snow, soon you will be able to get out there to garden. We often see patients with aches and pain that show up after they start moving around outside following a fairly inactive winter season. To avoid aches and pains, or possibly a more serious injury as you get out to work on your yard and flower beds, follow these helpful tips:
- Go for a short walk or do some light stretches at home before you start gardening to warm up and loosen up your muscles.
- Take frequent breaks. Even a 1-2 minute change in position can make a difference. If you are leaning over to work on your flowers, stand up and stretch backwards at least very 15 minutes.
Enjoy spring and happy gardening!
